Campus Life FAQs
Relocation Scholarships &
Since higher education is tuition-free, what are the scholarships for?
That's correct, our higher education and college programs are tuition-free. Our unique scholarships are "Relocation & Living Stipends" designed to remove the financial barriers for students wanting to move and to attend our in-person campus in New Mexico. The funding is exclusively for helping students establish their new life here.
What specific expenses does the Relocation Scholarship cover?
The scholarship is comprehensive, designed to cover key moving and living costs, including:
Travel: Airfare, train tickets, or fuel costs for traveling to our New Mexico campus.
Housing: Financial assistance with the AdvitCare Housing Program.
Cost of Living: A regular monthly allowance for daily expenses like groceries, utilities, and local transport.
Fun & Wellness: We believe in a balanced student life, so the allowance is also intended to support recreational activities, hobbies, and social outings.
Who is eligible for a Relocation Scholarship?
Any student who has been accepted into one of our full-time, in-person college programs at the New Mexico campus and needs to relocate from outside the local area is eligible to apply.
How are the scholarship funds given to the student?
Funds are disbursed in a structured, supportive manner. Travel may be booked directly by the Academy or reimbursed. Housing assistance is provided by AdvitCare Housing, and the living allowance is provided to the student in regular monthly installments to assist with budgeting.
Is this a one-time payment or ongoing support?
It’s both. The scholarship includes an initial amount to cover immediate moving costs (like flights and other transportation help) and is followed by a recurring monthly allowance to support you throughout the academic term.
How do I apply for this scholarship?
You can apply for the Relocation Scholarship through our main admissions and financial aid application. There is a dedicated section where you can express your interest and provide the necessary details about your relocation needs.
Are there academic requirements to maintain the scholarship?
Yes, scholarship recipients are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and remain enrolled full-time in their program. The specific GPA and course load requirements will be clearly detailed in your scholarship agreement.
Is the scholarship renewable each year?
Yes, the scholarship is renewable for each year of your program, provided you continue to meet the eligibility and academic standing requirements. Students will complete a simple renewal application annually.
What happens if I have to withdraw from my program after receiving funds?
Our scholarship agreement outlines the specific terms regarding withdrawal. Generally, the monthly allowance would cease and a prorated portion of the initial relocation funds may need to be repaid, depending on the circumstances.
Can the scholarship be used to support family members moving with me?
The scholarship is calculated and awarded based on the needs of the individual student. While you are free to use the funds for resources that may accommodate your family, the amount is intended to support your personal living and relocation expenses. Depending on the situation, we may provide additional housing for free to family members coming with you provided by AdvitCare Housing, however, this will not apply to adult family members arriving with you.
Who can I contact for more specific questions about my situation?
Our Financial Aid and Admissions team is here to help! Please reach out to them directly at relocate@advitcareacademy.org or call our office to discuss your specific circumstances and get personalized guidance.
Are international (non-American) students eligible for the Relocation Scholarship?
Yes, absolutely. The scholarship program is open to all accepted students, regardless of their country of origin. We welcome and encourage international students to join our campus community in New Mexico.
Does AdvitCare Academy provide assistance with student visa applications?
Yes. Once an international student is accepted, our International Student Services (ISS) office will provide the necessary documentation, including the Form I-20, which is required to apply for an F-1 student visa. Our team will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
Does the Relocation Scholarship count as "proof of financial support" for the visa application?
Yes. Since our education is tuition-free and the scholarship covers living expenses, the official scholarship award letter from AdvitCare Academy can be used as strong evidence of financial support when you apply for your student visa.
